The Strand

Adelphi Theatre

The 1500-seat theatre is the fourth building to occupy the site. Home to many stage musicals, it is also home to the apparition of William Terriss, who was murdered outside the stage door in December 1897.

His ghost has been sighted regularly here, as well as at Covent Garden Underground Station, where he used to catch a train home after performances.

Lyceum Theatre

The Lyceum Theatre has a curious incident attached to it. In the 1880’s a couple reported sighting a woman sat in the stalls with a head in her lap. Was the head a phantom or the woman as well?
